To counter such desperate circumstances, the High Lords of Terra order a new founding, the 5th of its kind, to allow for the astartes to reach father and wider in their mission to hold back the Emperor's enemies. It is surely a troubled time, for the numbers of the proud space marines, humanity's greatest defenders, are rapidly declining through attrition of war. Countless splinter ork WAAAGH! pop in every corner, heretics prey upon every unchecked world and new and old xenos races alike try to claim a share of the galaxy as their own. Still recovering from the terrible events of the War of the Beast, the Imperium's military forces are barely able to hold back the innumerous threats that lurk beyond Imperial borders. They have much better connection with other Chapters, like the Emperor's Legion, with which they share a lot of similarities. Unique amongst the Chapters of the Unforgiven, they have little to no connection with their founding Chapter, and try to distance themselves from them.
They are a Chapter that, like their founding Progenitors, is very knight-like and resembles these ancient warriors in a lot of ways - from their ships, all the way to their ranking and armour - they are the Knights of the 41 st Millennium.īrave and honourable, the White Lions never flee and see retreat as cowardly and shameful. This Chapter's speciality are sieges and large-scaled battles, where their marshal prowess and tactical minds are at their best. Their duelling and sword-fighting skills are almost unmatched and they mainly use power-swords to fight their enemies. In combat they can fight within every range, but they're especially feared in close combat. Created during the 3 rd Founding, this venerable Chapter is very honourable and noble, but are without mercy in battle.
